Moving on with Persistent Pain

Who should attend?
People whose lives are impacted by persistent pain.

Program Format:
8 weeks – 2 hour sessions – offered InPerson
Adults (18+)
A participant manual is available for a $20 material fee, for pick up at the RDPCN office. If this fee creates a barrier for you, the fee can be waived.
Training includes pacing your daily activities to improve your stamina and energy while preventing flare ups. Explore the mind-body connection through engaging activities. Challenge yourself to change lifestyle factors that impact your pain.
Topics include exercise, nutrition, sleep, managing grief and stress, relaxation skills, medication, and coping strategies.

How do you get into the program?
You can self-refer by calling 780-312-2500 or obtain a referral from your Wetaskiwin PCN family doctor.
When you self-refer consider having a friend registered with you as this can provide support for positive change.
If you are already seeing a Wetaskiwin PCN nurse, psychologist, mental health counsellor, recreation therapist or pharmacist you can ask them about a referral.

Your commitment:
Make the course a priority.  Attend the weekly workshop and practice skills daily to reach your goals.  Be open minded and willing to consider trying new activities or techniques.
