Anxiety to Calm + Youth Anxiety to Calm

Alberta Anxiety to Calm For Youth (12-17):
Symptoms of anxiety are on the rise among youth. This program has been developed by Primary Care Network in response to a high frequency of referrals for anxiety. As a counterpart to the 18+ workshop Alberta Anxiety to Calm, Anxiety to Calm for Youth has been developed for those 12 to 17 years age. This program is based primarily on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), a result-based method that has repeatedly shown to have a strong effect in the treatment of anxiety disorders. This free, newly-developed program runs for six weeks. Family physicians may refer those with a diagnosed anxiety disorder or those experiencing anxiety symptoms.

Alberta Anxiety to Calm (18+):
Anxiety to Calm is a facilitated workshop for community members who want to have an opportunity for a healthy and interactive learning process to manage their anxiety. This workshop is different than a support group in that we do not spend a great deal of time sharing life difficulties but we concentrate on keeping you in the here and now. We will be focusing on helping you to develop skills, knowledge, and awareness in areas such as mindfulness, self-awareness, relaxation, and self-care, which will empower you to manage symptoms of anxiety. This workshop runs for 2-hour sessions over 4 weeks.

How to Join:
You can join either by contacting Wetaskiwin Primary Care Network directly as a self-referral at (780) 312-2500 or by a referral through a PCN Physician.

Your commitment:
Make the course a priority.  Attend the two-hour weekly workshop, set a goal and practice skills daily.
People who set personal goals and are motivated to do daily skills practice gain more benefits.
